Treble Voice Choir

HCTVC is a combination of the ladies from the Haddo House Choral & Operatic Society and the two award winning Haddo Junior Choirs. They have 70 members, aged 11- 80 +.

Presently on a break while the 'Voices' groups get established, HCTVC will reform in the future for concerts and major competitions.

The choir sings a wide range of music at a challenging level of difficulty with many harmonic parts. Musical Director Alice E Dennis GTCL coaches the choir's singers, many who don't read music and are new to singing, and takes time to teach them all the notes thoroughly. They are accompanied on the piano by Alice's husband Jerry Dennis who also arranges some of their music. All this is done in a fun and informal atmosphere.

HCTVC usually rehearse in Ellon Parish Church which has recently been spectacularly refurbished and has a stunning acoustic. The choir is very grateful to the Reverend Stephen Emery for allowing us to continue rehearsing there.

In their last competition - the Edinburgh heat of the Choir of the Year competition on Saturday 1st May 2010 - HCTVC got excellent marks from the judges and gained the Open Choir of the Day certificate. In the 2006 competition the choir came second in the whole of the UK and appeared on radio and TV.

Please check back for more information; the choir will be back when the youth membership increases enough to make this a truely cross generational choir.
