Alice Dennis is available to do singing workshops at schools throughout the North East. These popular classes last about 45 minutes and are a fun filled introduction to harmony singing and basic vocal techniques. After the last round of these workshops, over 100 children were inspired to join Haddo Children's Choir!
Alice can visit individual schools as many times as required (mornings only), classes catering for up to 40 children at any one time. All that is required is a spacious room, seating and a piano. Primary classes are best suited for children aged 8 - 11, and there is also a more advanced workshop available for secondary aged students. Special needs students also benefit greatly from the workshops and are always very welcome.
Workshops are free of charge to local state-run schools, schools further a field are required to pay travel expenses only.
Alice Dennis is always free to come to your society, school or choir for a fun and informative workshop session. She can offer a fresh perspective on pieces you are currently preparing, offer tips to improve vocal technique and dramatically improve common choral problems such as tuning and blend. She can set interesting pieces for you to study and then come along to work on them, or suggest suitable repertoire for your type of choir.
For a modest fee, workshops can last from an hour to a whole day depending upon your requirements. Whatever these are, Alice, in her own inimitable style, will galvanise your singers of whatever age or and standard, into an even more enthusiastic group, helping them reach their full potential.
Groups who may benefit from these one off classes include: choral societies, amateur opera companies, musical theatre groups, school classes and choirs of all types, whether adult or in schools.
Need an enthusiastic conductor who really understands the singer's side of things? Experienced at putting on operas, musicals and classical concerts with singers and orchestras, Alice is always happy to accept work in this field.
Alice is also available as an adjudicator for competitions and festivals (piano and singing). Particularly good with young people, her frank, friendly approach will give all aspiring musicians confidence to deal with any problems and help guide them towards achieving their goals.
